Why it is dangerous
Tremor-causing fungal toxins (mycotoxins) can form in moldy bread, pasta, cheese and nuts, and in compost. The trash can and the compost pile are the main sources.
Possible signs
- Vomiting
- Drooling
- Restlessness
- Loss of balance
- Tremors
- Seizures
- Fever
What to do
Keep the garbage and any leftover food away from your pet. Call your veterinarian right away; if tremors have started, head out without waiting. Do not try to make your pet vomit unless your veterinarian tells you to.
