EmergencyCall nowHousehold

Especially affected animals: Dog, Cat

Why it is dangerous

Organophosphate insecticides affect the nervous system. Animals can be affected by licking the product, eating treated plants, or through contact of the product with the skin or eyes.

Possible signs

  • Excessive drooling
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Watery eyes
  • Changes in the pupils
  • Tremors
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Seizures

What to do

Move your pet away from the treated area. Take the product's box or label and call a veterinarian immediately. Do not try to make your pet vomit unless the veterinarian tells you to; if the product has gotten on the skin or in the eyes, ask the veterinarian what you should do.

This is general guidance and does not replace a veterinary examination. Ask your veterinarian for a plan tailored to your pet.
