Especially affected animals: Dog, Cat

Why it is dangerous

Swallowing detergents causes drooling and vomiting; if the product enters the airway during vomiting, it can cause inflammation of the lungs (aspiration pneumonia). Products containing corrosive additives such as bleach can cause sores in the mouth, throat and stomach.

Possible signs

  • Drooling
  • Vomiting
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Sores in the mouth

What to do

Do not try to make your pet vomit. Take the product's box and call a veterinarian immediately; if there is coughing or difficulty breathing, set off without waiting.

This is general guidance and does not replace a veterinary examination. Ask your veterinarian for a plan tailored to your pet.
