Especially affected animals: Dog, Cat

Why it is dangerous

All parts of the narcissus contain alkaloid toxins; the highest amount is in the bulb. It can cause severe vomiting and resulting fluid loss.

What to do

Remove the plant and the bulb, if there is one, and take a photo of it. Call the veterinarian immediately; do not wait, especially if your pet has eaten the bulb. Do not try to induce vomiting unless the veterinarian tells you to.

Do not try to make your pet vomit; if needed, the vet will do it at the clinic. Bring the packaging with you.

This is general guidance and does not replace a veterinary examination. Ask your veterinarian for a plan tailored to your pet.
