CautionAsk your vetPlant

Especially affected animals: Dog, Cat

Why it is dangerous

Cyclamen usually causes mild digestive signs. If a large amount is eaten, heart rhythm abnormalities and seizures can occur, although this is rare.

Possible signs

  • Drooling
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Rarely, irregular heartbeat or seizures

What to do

Remove the plant and note how much your pet ate. Call a veterinarian right away and explain the situation; the veterinarian will tell you whether an examination is needed. Do not try to induce vomiting unless the veterinarian tells you to.

Do not try to make your pet vomit; if needed, the vet will do it at the clinic. Bring the packaging with you.

This is general guidance and does not replace a veterinary examination. Ask your veterinarian for a plan tailored to your pet.
